MTV is developing a live-action reboot of Aeon Flux, so reports The Hollywood Reporter. The project is coming from Teen Wolf showrunner Jeff Davis is writing the script alongside The Walking Dead‘s Gale Anne Hurd.
The property actually originated on MTV with an animated science fiction television series, created by Peter Chung, which aired from 1991-1995. It was adapted into a more recent film in 2005 with Charlize Theron heading the cast.
The trade says that the series will be set in a future dystopian state, revolving around a young assassin who teams with a group of biohacking rebels to save humanity as she becomes the hero known as Aeon Flux.
No timescales with this one as yet but we’ll keep you posted.
