Paul Hogan, star of the 1980s comedy movie Crocodile Dundee is set to return to the screen for a new movie called The Very Excellent Mr Dundee, so reports Variety. Dean Murphy is directing the film.
The trade paper says that ‘Mr Dundee’ will ‘see Hogan playing himself on the brink of receiving a Knighthood for services to comedy. “Don’t do anything to mess this up,” his manager tells him. However, despite all his best efforts, the next six weeks sees his name and reputation destroyed.’
It all sounds very meta. “Watch this space as I’ve been honored to have many of my friends and colleagues, whose work I adore, agree to join us for this hilarious new adventure,” said Paul Hogan in a statement posted on Variety this morning.
We’re massive fans of the Crocodile Dundee films, particularly the original, even if it now seems a little dated.
More news as it comes in.
