Over the past few weeks, filmmaker Peter Jackson has been linked with an assortment of projects, in particular the planned Amazon ‘Lord Of The Rings’ series and the DC universe over at Warner Bros. Well, Jackson has no been speaking to the press over at Allocine in France, and shot down the rumours.
Jackson, of course, brought all six ‘Lord Of The Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’ to the screen, but his involvement in a TV series based on the former now looks doubtful.
Speaking about the five-season ‘Lord Of The Rings’ adaptation on Amazon, which is reportedly set to cost a huge $1 billion, Jackson said:
“I’m not involved at all in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ series. I understand how my name could come up, but there is nothing happening with me on this project.”
So, what about the DC comic book movie?
“That’s not true. I had no discussions about that,” he added. “I’m not a fan of comics, I’ve never read any, so I’m not particularly interested in adapting one for cinema. That’s not true at all. I’m not involved in any DC film or Lord of The Rings series but I’m ok with it, I have plenty other projects that keep me busy!”
His next project is Mortal Engines, a trailer for which dropped just yesterday. He co-wrote and produced the film which will be released later this year.
