There are still some months to go until Incredibles 2 opens in cinemas, but box-office trackers are already in place for the upcoming Disney/ Pixar sequel, and it looks good for the next big animated film of the year.
According to Box Office Pro, Incredibles 2, the sequel to the 2004 original, which is much-loved even to this day, is tracking for a huge $110 million opening Stateside, a huge $40 million more than the original’s opening weekend performance twelve years ago.
The site says that the movie could be looking at a whopping $400 million during its total run in North America. If it does manage that feat, it would put it in their top three movies openers ever, just behind Toy Story 3 with $415 million during its entire domestic run, and their top earner Finding Dory, which scored $486 million a couple of years back.
Incredibles 2 opens in the UK on 15th June.
