Two images have been released from David Lowery’s upcoming film The Old Man and the Gun, a film which is allegedly Robert Redford’s final screen performance. Lowery is the man responsible for the remake of Pete’s Dragon, as well as last year’s Sundance hit A Ghost Story.
Deadline previously reported that the film is based on the true story of Forrest Tucker (Redford) who escaped from San Quentin at the age of 70 and the unprecedented string of heists that perplexed law enforcement and enamoured the public. Casey Affleck will assume the role of Detective John Hunt, the man on the trailer of Tucker, while Sissy Spacek will play Tucker’s love interest.

A release date of October 5th Stateside has been announced by Fox Searchlight, which suggests that the movie will play at one of the autumn film festivals (Venice, Telluride, TIFF).
Here are the two images.
