Deadline is reporting that Straight Outta Compton and Fast and Furious 8 director F. Gary Gray is set to helm a new movie based on the Kenner toy range MASK. The toys were used in a popular TV show that ran for two seasons in the 1980s, and he property now looks like it will make a comeback with the planned project, which is based over at Paramount.
The trade says that the film will be produced by Hasbro and Gray.

MASK is an acronym for Mobile Armored Strike Kommand, a task force led by Matt Trakker whose goal is to take out the criminal organisation VENOM. A writer is currently being sought.
Gray next heads to Sony for a reboot of the Men In Black series with Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. We’re expecting that one to roll into production later in the year.
More on the MASK project as it comes in.
