Mom and Dad is still playing in some UK cinemas, and if you haven’t had chance to go see it, we suggest you do before it leaves screens. The film, which revolves around a teenage girl and her little brother who must survive a wild 24 hours during which a mass hysteria of unknown origins that causes parents to turn violently on their own kids. The film is seriously out there, and it seems that its lead Nicolas Cage wants to go back for more.
Speaking to Cinema Blend, Cage revealed that he’s bang up for a sequel.
“I think in terms of sequels, I think Mom and Dad has the potential for a sequel. I think so, yeah. I mean, I would be curious to see the direction it could go in, but I think it was probably the most dysfunctional family ever put on celluloid, and with the grandparents coming in. You know, I think that there could be some sort of switch that gets flipped again where the kids start taking over and then going on a rampage. I feel like you could do something with the adapter particular family again and then I have a lot of fun with it.”
The film. which also stars Selma Blair, Anne Winters, and Zackary Arthur is directed by Brian Taylor. Check it out if you get the chance, but do read our review first. More on a potential sequel if and when it comes our way.
