‘Black Panther’ Starts Its DVD/ Blu-Ray Roll-Out In May

Hot off of its release in cinemas in February – where it has so far grossed $1.3 billion around the world – Black Panther is set to start its DVD and Blu-ray roll-out sooner than expected. The film, one of Marvel Studios’ biggest money-spinners, will arrive on digital platforms in the U.S. on May 8, and then on Blu-ray over there about a week later on May 15th – that’s just three months after its theatrical bow.

Marvel Studios’ Black Panther follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

While the film’s domestic home entertainment bow has been announced, there’s still no word as to when th Uk will get the release. The UK releases for sMarvel movies are usually after their domestic roll-out, but the information still hasn’t been released by the studio.

What we do have is a glorious trailer announcing the U.S. release. Check it out below.
