Steven Spielberg has confirmed to a British newspaper that the next Indiana Jones film will be Harrison Ford’s last adventure in the series. The legendary filmmaker, whose Ready Player One is slaying it in cinemas around the world, also commented that although it will be Ford’s final, it won’t be the last Indy film.
“This will be Harrison Ford’s last Indiana Jones movie, I am pretty sure, but it will certainly continue after that,” Spielberg said to The Sun newspaper.

Spielberg also commented on the possibility of Indiana Jones being played by a woman, “We’d have to change the name from Jones to Joan. And there would be nothing wrong with that.”
Indiana Jones 5 will kick off production next year for a 2020 release. Spielberg is directing from a screenplay by David Koepp, while Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall produce. More as it comes in.
