Johnny English Strikes Again is the third installment of the Johnny English comedy series, with Rowan Atkinson returning as the much loved accidental secret agent. The new adventure begins when a cyber-attack reveals the identity of all active undercover agents in Britain, leaving Johnny English as the secret service’s last hope. Called out of retirement, English dives head first into action with the mission to find the mastermind hacker. As a man with few skills and analogue methods, Johnny English must overcome the challenges of modern technology to make this mission a success.
We weren’t huge fans of the last film, our review of Johnny English Reborn saying that the film was certainly not overt enough for the kids – nor is it subtle and witty enough for the parents. We were excited to see it as we felt it’d been a while since we’d seen the great Rowan Atkinson shine… it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer. Could Johnny English Strikes Again be the one we’ve all been waiting for?
Johnny English Strikes Again is directed by David Kerr (Inside No. 9 and Fresh Meat). The all-star cast includes Ben Miller, Olga Kurylenko, Jake Lacy and Emma Thompson.
Johnny English Strikes Again is released in UK cinemas on 12th October 2018. Watch the first trailer below.
