‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ Has Been Pushed Back Several Months

The release of the next installment in the ‘X-Men’ franchise, X-Men: Dark Phoenix has been pushed back several months. The film, which is directed by Simon Kinberg, was slated for a release Stateside on November 2nd, but will not release on February 14th, 2019. In related news, the other X-Men movie that was originally set for release this year, X-Men: New Mutants, will now debut on August 2nd, 2019, shifting it six months from its original February slot.

The Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody has also been moved but in the other direction. The film, which saw Dexter Flecther take over directing duties from Bryan Singer, will now debut on November 2nd, instead of Christmas Day.

All of this news comes via The Tracking Board, who also reports that Joe Cornish’s The Kid Who Would Be King would also be delayed – from February 14th, 2019 to March 1st, 2019. Animated feature Spies in Disguise has been moved back three months to April 19th, 2019, while Roxann Dawson’s new film Breakthrough will land on April 12,th 2019 wide release. James Mangold’s planned adaptation of Don Winslow’s The Force has been pulled from its March 1st, 2019 altogether.
