Quentin Tarantino has just bagged the likes of Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio for the soon-to-start-filming Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, but of course, he has another project already in the works, the next installment in the Star Trek franchise. One the stars of the current series, Karl Urban, who plays Dr. Leonard ‘Bones’ McCoy in the movies, spoke with ComicBook.com about the project, and indeed what Tarantino is bringing to the table.
“I think it’s a fascinating prospect, and I think probably exactly the kind of energy that Star Trek needs at this point in time,” Urban said of Tarantino’s involvement.
“Quentin Tarantino’s a dynamic filmmaker. I have admired and respected his work for a very long time, and I would be thrilled to get the opportunity to work with him in any capacity. So, you know, we’re just going to let the chips fall where they may, and fingers crossed, we’ll get that opportunity.”

Tarantino got involved with the series after coming up with an awesome [as-yet-unknown] idea which found its way to producer J.J. Abrams. Mark L. Smith, who scripted The Revenant, is currently working on the screenplay for the picture.
It’s unsure as to whether Tarantino will direct, but that’s obviously the hope.
