‘Avengers: Infinity War’ May Be Heading For A Huge $230 Million + Opening

A couple of days ago, news broke that the upcoming superhero ensemble movie Avengers: Infinity War, had been moved up a week. The film will now hit U.K. and U.S. cinemas on April 27th, which is a break from the norm for Marvel Studios, who usually release the film a week earlier on British shores. Well, the move may have been a hugely positive one as the film is currently tracking for a  $235 million on its home soil, which could put it in contention for the biggest opening film of all time.

That current record is set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens from 2015. The J.J. Abrams movie made a whopping $247.9 million during its first few days, so ‘Infinity War’ will have some ways to go to equal that, but it’s looking good well over six weeks out from release.

The current tracking of the movie comes courtesy of The Hashtag Show, who adds that the film is also tracking for a $490 million to $590 million domestic opening.

An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on this, so keep it THN as we approach release.
