The 2018 BAFTA Film Awards have been dished out in London at the city’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall. The big winner on the night was clearly Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, which walked off with no less than five awards, including the two big ones, Best British Film and Best Film. Frances McDormand also walked away with Best Actress. Alison Janney scored Best Supporting Actress for her role in this week’s big UK release I, Tonya.
In the male acting roles, Gary Oldman won for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour, while Sam Rockwell had a deserved win in the supporting actor category for ‘Three Billboards’. Original Screenplay was also awarded to Martin McDonagh’s movie, while the filmmaker lost out to Guillermo del Toro for The Shape Of Water in the Best Director category.
