Video Of The Day: Every ‘Best Cinematography’ Oscar-Winner, Ever

It’s nearly Oscar time – in fact there’s just over two weeks until the 2018 ceremony will be upon us. To get you in the mood for this year’s proceedings, here’s a new video featuring every recipient of the Best Cinematography award ever.

The video, from YouTubers Burger Fiction, charts the journey of the winners from Sunrise: A Song Of Two Humans in 1927/28),  Charles Rosher & Karl Struss picking up the award that year, all of the way throught to the 2017 winner La La Land, featuring the work of Linus Sandgren. There’s everything in-between too, including Close Encounters Of The Third Kind (1977), Apocalypse Now! (1979), JFK (1991), Braveheart (1995) and every other year too. It’s quite a watch, clocking in at seven and a half minutes, but an absolute must for the dedicated Cinephile. The big question is whether Roger Deakins will bag the award (finally) this year for Blade Runner 2049? Here’s hoping.

Check the video out below.
