John Logan, the writing genius behind Skyfall and Ridley Scott’s Gladiator has been lined up to pen the screenplay for Leonardo DiCaprio’s Leonardo da Vinci movie. Paramount Pictures is behind the project, which will have its screenplay adapted from Walter Isaacson’s biography “Leonardo da Vinci.” DiCaprio will produce as well as lead the cast as the artist.
Variety, who broke the news, says that the book, published by Simon & Schuster in October, was based on thousands of pages from da Vinci’s notebooks.
DiCaprio will next be seen in Quentin Tarantino’s untitled movie with the Charles Manson murders providing the backdrop for the story. That movie will shoot later this year for a release in the summer of 2019.
Logan has also scripted the likes of Hugo, TV series Genius, Alien: Covenant and the DiCaprio-led Howard Hughes biopic The Aviator.
