Hans Zimmer Set To Score ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’

Legendary film composer Hans Zimmer is set to return to the superhero genre to score X-Men: Dark Phoenix for 20th Century Fox. Zimmer is known for his work on the DC movies, including Christopher Nolan’s ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy, Man Of Steel and collaborating with Junkie XL on Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

The news of Zimmer’s involvement in the next X-Men movie comes from Evan Peters, who plays Quicksilver in the franchise, over on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

Here’s the segment of the Peters interview from the podcast.

“I think the film is gonna be incredible. Hans Zimmer’s scoring it—I don’t know if I was supposed to say that or not. Simon has surrounded himself with incredible people, and Simon knows this world better than anybody, so it was just cool to see him—he’s so happy and in his element in that world, and also being able to direct and guide everybody in this way. I was very happy for him and I think it’s gonna be great.”

X-Men: Dark Phoenix follows on from X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days Of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse. It will be set in the 1990s with James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), and Evan Peters (Quicksilver) all returning.

Simon Kinberg directs from his own screenplay. X-Men: Dark Phoenix arrives in cinemas on 2nd November 2018.
