Variety is reporting that British actor Clive Owen has joined Will Smith in Ang Lee’s planned Gemini Man. Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media are behind the high-profile project and the word over at the trade is that Lee is expected to meet with Tatiana Maslany, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Elizabeth Debicki for the female lead in the coming weeks.
Gemini Man follows an over-the-hill hitman (Smith) who faces off against a younger clone of himself. Clive Owen is expected to play the main antagonist in the film.
Gemini Man already has a release date set for October 4, 2019, with a spring shoot potentially scheduled.
Owen was last seen in the Luc Besson-directed Valerian and the City Of A Thousand Planets, and on the TV series The Knick.
