John Malkovich (Deepwater Horizon, Con Air) has joined the cast of Voltage Pictures’ upcoming Ted Bundy biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile which already has Zac Efron and Lily Collins amongst its cast.
Malkovich is set to play Judge Edward Cowart, the man who presided over the 1979 trial of serial killer Ted Bundy. Efron is playing Bundy in the Joe Berlinger-directed true-crime thriller which will follow the story of Bundy’s infamous trial from the perspective of his girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, who will be portrayed by Lily Collins.
This latest casting news comes ahead of the scheduled production start date of January 18th. Berlinger is directing a screenplay by Michael Werwie, which has generated a great deal of buzz after being included on the Black List.
No release date is set yet for the film, but be sure to watch this space for any further updates as the film kicks off its production.
