Variety is reporting that Marvel Studios is moving forward with a stand-alone Black Widow movie. The trade says that the project is in the very early stages of development, but Jac Schaeffer (TiMER) has been hired to write the screenplay for the movie.
The trade also adds that the movie still doesn’t have a green light at the studio as yet, but this is very positive news for the character, played by Scarlett Johansson in the movies so far.
Schaffer is a rising talent in Hollywood. He has a remake of the classic Dirty Rotten Scoundrels currently in post-production. The film, titled Nasty Women, stars Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson, and is directed by British filmmaker Chris Addison. That film is due in the summer.
More news on the Black Widow stand-alone movie as it comes our way.
