The character was created by Kevin Van Hook, Don Perlin and Bob Layton in 1992 and the film is expected to be a hard R in terms of its rating. The trade adds that the film will be aesthetically influenced by high-concept, sci-fi blockbusters of the late ’80s including Robocop, Terminator, and Total Recall, following on from recent R-rated hits Deadpool and Logan. Neil Moritz, who is behind the Fast and the Furious movies, is co-producing the new movie, which is expected in cinemas in 2019.
Valiant, who first published Bloodshot, holds around 2,000 superhero characters making it the third largest library of superheroes behind Marvel and DC, so there’s lots of potential for the future here.
