After launching at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival during its very popular Midnight Madness strand, the upcoming horror movie Mom and Dad has just debuted its first trailer. Nicolas Cage leads the cast of the film, which sees him pair up with Selma Blair as a couple of suburban parents who are suddenly seized with an unstoppable urge to murder their children. Wait, what? Here’s the official blurb:
A teenage girl and her little brother must survive a wild 24 hours during which a mass hysteria of unknown origins causes parents to turn violently on their own kids.
Yes, it’s truly out there, but we’re hearing some pretty positive stuff coming from the festival circuit for this one. After all, it is directed by one half of the duo that brought the Crank movies to cinemas, Brian Taylor. Anne Winters, Zackary Arthur, Olivia Croccicchia, Brionne Davis and Samantha Lemole are also amongst the cast.
You can check out the very first trailer for Mom and Dad below. The film is set to hit theaters and on VOD and Digital HD Stateside on January 19, 2018. We’re yet to hear of a UK release, but we’ll keep you posted.
