Sundance Film Festival London Dates Announced For 2018

Sundance Institute and Picturehouse Cinemas have announced that the Sundance Film Festival: London will return to Picturehouse Central from 31 May-3 June 2018. The Festival will feature the international and UK premieres of films from the 2018 edition of the renowned Sundance Film Festival which takes place 18-28 January in Park City, Utah, U.S.A. 

Film fans can register for festival passes for the 2018 London event from today via www.picturehouses.com/sundance. The ‘Festival Pass’ guarantees access to ten Festival films/special events plus priority booking for additional events, access to the Picturehouse Central Members’ Bar, and food and drink discounts. The ‘VIP Pass’ gives access to EVERY film and special event at the festival, plus all parties, a Picturehouse Central membership, a goodie bag and more. 

The 2017 edition of Sundance Film Festival: London took place at Picturehouse Central, presenting 14 feature films direct from this year’s Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, U.S.A. The Festival opened with the International premiere of Miguel Arteta’s Beatriz at Dinner, and closed with the UK premiere of David Lowery’s A Ghost Story, starring Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara.

For the first time, the 2017 programme included a Surprise Film which gave festivalgoers an exclusive chance to catch an audience hit from that year’s Festival in Park City – this year’s choice was PattiCake$.  The first Audience Favourite award was presented to Icarus.

Filmmakers and talent in attendance throughout last year’s Festival included actress Salma Hayek (Beatriz at Dinner), and directors Miguel Arterta (Beatriz at Dinner), Michael Showalter (The Big Sick), Jeff Orlowski (Chasing Coral), David Lowery (A Ghost Storyand Bryan Fogel (Icarus). Previous editions of the Festival, which has been running since 2012, have welcomed filmmakers, artists and supporters including HRH The Prince of Wales, Michael Fassbender, Gemma Arterton, Ryan Reynolds, Lake Bell, Jimmy Carr, The Eagles, Peaches, David Cross, Rose McGowan, Minnie Driver and Rufus Wainwright. 

The 2018 Sundance Film Festival line-up was announced at the end of November. The 2018 London program will be announced next Spring.
