Quentin Tarantino reportedly has an idea for a Star Trek movie and has apparently spoken with J.J. Abrams about it. It sounds like Abrams is very impressed in what Tarantino had to say about his movie idea, and has reportedly set up a writers room to flesh out the idea.
Deadline reports the news of Tarantino’s idea, and adds that if it all works out, Tarantino might direct it, with Abrams producing.
Personally I can’t see it happening as Tarantino hasn’t taken on a franchise as yet, but who knows, anything is possible in today’s Hollywood. The only thing that may get in the way are schedules, as Tarantino is currently looking to prep his ninth movie for a shoot sometime next year. The project is referred to as #9 and has already got a release date set for the summer of 2019.
Abrams himself also has a lot on his plate as he has signed up for a big movie to release in the winter of 2019, the ninth film in the Star Wars series.
We’re still very intrigued as to what Tarantino has come up with, but of course, if we here anything else, we’l be sure to let you know.
