Netflix has confirmed that House Of Cards will resume production in the early part of 2018. Production was halted earlier this year following accusations of sexual harassment against series star Kevin Spacey. The final series, its sixth, will be comprised of just eight episodes rather than the usual thirteen.
“We are excited to bring closure to fans,” Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer for Netflix said on Monday.
There is no news on how the show will continue in terms of story with Spacey out of the fold, but the streamer has already confirmed that it is looking at possibilities for future spin-off Tv series’, one of which could feature Michael Kelly’s Doug Stamper.
The award-winning production was the very first Netflix original series, launching on the service in 2014. Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Neve Campbell, Derek Cecil, Paul Sparks and Joel Kinnaman are also amongst its cast.
