There are two Star Wars movies coming our way in six months. It all starts in just a matter of weeks with Star Wars: The Last Jedi arriving on December 14th, and then Solo: A Star Wars Story coming next May. But what about afterwards? Where will the Star Wars universe go next? Well, of course, we’ll have an Episode 9 in 2019, but beyond that is unknown. Until now, perhaps.
Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, who make the Star Wars films, spoke about the future of the saga over the next decade, and about her work with the Star Wars Story Group.
Kennedy was speaking on the latest episode of The Star Wars Show.
“We’re sitting down now, we’re talking about the next ten years of Star Wars stories and we’re looking at narratively where that might go; future stories beyond Episode 9, with these new characters, Rey, Poe, Finn, BB-8, but we’re also looking at working with people that are interested in coming into the Star Wars world and taking us to places that we haven’t been yet, and that’s exciting too because it’s a vast galaxy far, far away… The possibilities are endless.”
Great news for fans, of course.
