After months of speculation, Sylvester Stallone has revealed that he will direct and produce the sequel to the 2015 Rocky-reinvention Creed. The screen legend took to his Instagram page on Monday to reveal the news:
“Looking forward to directing and Producing The incredibly talented Michael B Jordan in CREED 2 next year … One more Round !”

Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, upcoming Black Panther) directed the first movie to huge acclaim, but obviously will not return for this second instalment, which Stallone reveals through his message that should roll into production next year for a supposed 2019 release.
Stallone has been teasing the return of Ivan Drago in recent months, with rumours suggesting that Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Creed may face off against his son. Drago, played by Dolph Lundgren, will apparently reprise his role from Rocky IV.
There are no further details on Creed 2 presently, but we’ll keep you posted as news trickles in.
