Universal Pictures has reportedly pushed back ‘Fast and Furious 9’ an entire year from 2019 to 2020. The original release date for the next instalment in the super-popular franchise was set for April 19, 2019 Stateside, but will now debut on Friday, April 10, 2020.
This year’s Fast and Furious 8 starred Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, along with Charlize Theron, Kurt Russell and Scott Eastwood. At least some of those names are expected for the next movie, which now possibly won’t start shooting until 2019.
‘Fast 8’ made a huge $1.238 billion at the worldwide box-office and is about to drop on the home formats where it will no doubt make even more money.
No specific reason for the delay to ‘Fast 9’, but we’ll keep you posted.
