There’s still just over a week until it officially lands in cinemas, but the first reactions to the upcoming Blade Runner 2049 are in from across the pond in the United States. Those reactions are mostly positive, and while there is no official full review online as yet, various critics have taken to social media to air their initial thoughts.
Here’s a sample.

#BladeRunner2049 is a rare sequel that actually improves on the original. Great Performances & Visually Breathtaking. Villeneuve nails it.

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
The film also stars Ana de Armas, Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Barkhad Abdi, Lennie James, Mackenzie Davis, and Sylvia Hoeks.
Blade Runner 2049 arrives in cinemas on October 6th.
