It wowed audiences earlier this year and took a ton of money at the box-office, and now Universal Pictures is pushing for Oscars for the break-out horror movie Get Out.
According to Indiewire, the studio is set to screen the movie at ‘a special event at a festival known for its love of award movies.’ That festival is the Hamptons International Film Festival, which runs from October 5th-9th, where director Jordan Peele is set to turn up to introduce his movie, along with the cast and crew.
The site says that Peele will be joined by producers Jason Blum and Sean McKittrick, along with stars Daniel Kaluuya and Allison Williams, for the HIFF. The festival will also screen Darkest Hour, I, Tonya, Call Me by Your Name, The Shape of Water, and Wonderstruck, films that have also been mentioned for awards season after getting huge acclaim at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals.
Get Out was first released back in February, and has since gone on to gross over $250 million at the worldwide box-office.
