Linda Hamilton Terminator news! The actress is set to return as Sarah Connor!

“As meaningful as she was to gender and action stars everywhere back then, it’s going to make a huge statement to have that seasoned warrior that she’s become return,” Cameron said.

“There are 50-year-old, 60-year-old guys out there killing bad guys,” he added, “but there isn’t an example of that for women.”

Deadpool helmer Tim Miller will direct a new installment in the hit series, set for release in 2019. Cameron is producing along with Skydance, while Arnold Schwarzenegger is also set to return.

The next film in the series is set to be the first in a new trilogy, a series of films conceived in a ‘writers room’ consisting of David Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy); Charles Eglee, who created Dark Angel with Cameron; Josh Friedman, who created the Terminator TV spinoff, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Justin Rhodes, who frequently collaborates with Goyer.

Hamilton portrayed the character of Sarah Connor in The Terminator and Terminator 2, but sat out the following three installments in the series, the last of which to be released was 2015’s Terminator: Genisys, which saw the character played by Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke. The film was met with mixed reviews.

The word is that the new movie will be a direct sequel to Terminator 2, but of course, plot details are being kept under wraps.

So, what do you think of the Linda Hamilton Terminator news? Is it a good thing she’s returning for a new sequel? We certainly think so.
