TIFF 2017: ‘Call Me By Your Name’ Reaction

Our coverage of the Toronto International Film Festival continues with our reaction video for the superb Call Me By Your Name, which is, quite simply one of the best films of the festival

Luca Guadagnino (I Am LoveA Bigger Splash) has fashioned André Aciman’s 2007 novel of sexual awakening into a joyous romantic adventure. Set in the sun-kissed landscape of Lombardy, Northern Italy, and with a script by James Ivory, Call Me By Your Name is a note-perfect tale of forbidden love. It brings together Timothée Chalamet (also at the Festival in Hostiles) and Armie Hammer as the two protagonists whose summer in the countryside opens new doors for both of them.

We’ve reviewed the film in full on the site over here, but to hear our initial, slightly more informal thoughts, click through to view the video in the player below.
