We’ve been hoping that a Downton Abbey movie would be happening, and a few short weeks ago, news spread across the Internet that it looked like it is indeed happening. Well, one of the stars of the original, hit ITV TV series has offered a small update on said film, and the logistical nightmares of bringing everyone back together.
Joanne Froggatt, who played the character of Anna Bates on the show, offered the following in a new interview with the Radio Times.
“It’s been tricky. There has been a lot of goodwill from all of us, but logistically, it’s a bit of a minefield,” she said.
“It’s very difficult to get 22 actors together. But if we can, everyone would like to do it.”
Reports earlier this year suggested that the film would start shooting in 2018 for a 2019 release.
“Selfishly, it would be great to get together for 10 weeks and have a little reunion,” Froggatt added.
“But in all honesty, I have no idea. I absolutely have no idea. There’s been talk, there’s been conversations, but nothing has happened.
“We’re all sort of leaving it up to the gods. We have no information.”
Downton Abbey ran for six seasons on ITV in the UK and PBS in the U.S. from 2010-2015.
We’ll bring you more on the movie as it comes our way.
