We heard last week that ‘Bad Boys 3’ had been all but written off. We were so devastated that we couldn’t even bring ourselves to write about it, but the good news that we’re waking up to this morning is that the movie could be back on!
Speaking to Yahoo, the series’ producer Jerry Bruckheimer said:
“Well, we’ve been developing it for I don’t know how many years now and we had a period of time where it got pretty close and then it drifted away a little bit and hopefully it will drift back again”, Bruckheimer said. “We have a new writer on it who’s working on it right now, so that gives me encouragement”.
Joe Carnahan was attached to direct, and has written an earlier version of the screenplay, but he’s been off the project for a little while now.
We do hope that we do see a ‘Bad Boys 3’ (which is still being referred to as Bad Boys For Life), but we’re expecting it to be a little while off at least as one of the boys, Will Smith, is busy on the Aladdin live-action movie for Disney, and is then scheduled to start work on Ang Lee’s Gemini Man.
Smith will next be seen in Netflix’s Bright, which lands in December.
