To The Bone star Lily Collins will play J.R.R. Tolkien’s wife in the planned biopic of the legendary Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit author. Collins will join the already cast Nicholas Hoult in the film, which is simply titled Tolkien, for Fox Searchlight and Chernin Entertainment.
According to the trade paper Variety, the film focuses on the author as he finds friendship, love, and artistic inspiration among a group of classmates prior to the outbreak of World War I in 1914.
Collins will play Edith Bratt, Tolkien’s great love, and eventual wife who inspired the elven princess characters in the Lord of the Rings stories.
Directing the film is Dome Karukoski, and shooting is expected to start very shortly.
