Robert Pattinson’s Cannes Movie ‘Good Time’ Gets UK Release Date

Way back in May of this year, Robert Pattinson wowed the Cannes Film Festival with his new film Good Time, a movie that many, including us, called it the performance of his career. The film revolves around a botched bank robbery involving Pattinson’s character and his younger brother Nick (Benny Safdie). Benny and his brother Josh direct. The movie has already received a limited release Stateside, but now a Good Time UK release date has been revealed by A24.

You can read our review at the end of the link above, but here’s a snippet of what we thought:

Good Time has so much depth in terms of what it is trying to convey, reminding us very much of the early work of Nicolas Winding Refn, which is not only due to its genre, but also the stunning, building, booming music soundtrack laced through it.

Intense, sometimes emotional, and full of well-written characters with tons of frenetic energy from its two directors, Good Time is one of the biggest surprises, and indeed one of the best crime movies of the year. You will have a Good Time indeed.

We liked it. A lot.

Curzon Artificial Eye will release the film in the U.K., making their acquisition tally from this year’s South of France festival to eight, a haul which includes the Palme d’Or winner The Square and Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Killing Of A Sacred Deer. They will team with A24 for the release of Good Time.

Louisa Dent, managing director of Curzon Artificial Eye told Screen Daily: “We were blown away when we saw Good Time in Cannes, so of course we are tremendously excited to be partnering with A24 on the UK release.

“Josh and Benny have created a propulsive, gripping thriller and Robert Pattinson’s central performance is truly something to behold. Likewise we are delighted to be working with A24. Their productions have been strong favourites within the company and with Curzon customers alike.”
