The Coen brothers’ first foray into television has found a home over at the streaming giant Netflix. The western anthology series, titled The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs, will head to Netflix in 2018 exclusively for members.
The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs is written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, and produced by Annapurna Television. Cast members include the likes of Tim Blake Nelson, who plays the title character of Buster.
“The Coens are visionary directors, masterful storytellers, and colorful linguists. We are thrilled for Netflix to become home to the full range of their talents,” said Cindy Holland, vice president of original content for Netflix via Variety.
The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs will feature six tales about the American frontier. Each chapter will feature a different story about the American West, so says the trade.
The Coens added a comment in their own unique way: “We are streaming motherf*ckers!,” said Joel Coen and Ethan Coen.
