Just when you thought you’d seen the end of The Hunger Games and Twilight, Lionsgate may be bringing it back to screens. Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer discussed the future of both of the big, money-making franchises during a quarterly earnings call on Tuesday.
Variety reports that Feltheimer said: “There are a lot more stories to be told, and we’re ready to tell them when our creators are ready to tell those stories.”
Now, this comment is far from a confirmation that both franchises are coming back to screens any time so, but what Feltheimer does imply is that they’re ready to pursue further adventures in both series when authors Stephenie Meyer (Twilight) and “Hunger Games” author Suzanne Collins give their consent.
Or have they already?
Of course, we have no idea, but it sounds promising.
So far, The Hunger Games films have recorded $2.9 billion in worldwide box-office and the Twilight films, across the four movies, have made $3.3 billion. Both are lucrative franchises for Lionsgate, and I’m sure a return for either of them will please fans.
More as we hear.
