It looks like the long-planned Cowboy, Ninja, Viking starring Chris Pratt is finally to go before cameras for release sometime in 2019.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that the film, which is based on the popular comic book of the same name, will see Pratt star as a new kind of assassin who manifests the toughest skills of three different personas.
The film has been given the prime spot of a June 28, 2019 (July 4th holiday weekend) for release, which bodes well for the Universal-backed movie.
The original comic book/ graphic novel is by AJ Lieberman and illustrator Riley Rossmo and was released in 2009, released through Image Comics’ partner studio Shadowline.
Here’s some official blurb for the source material.
International intrigue! Black-market nukes! And Cowboy Ninja Viking! Sent on a covert mission that will take the triplets from Bangkok to the Middle East, Duncan, Ghislain, Nix, Grear, Steed Malbranque, and everyone’s favorite gladiator/pirate/oceanographer Yashitiko Ammo are gonna save the world… or totally screw it up!
The movie version is reportedly now ‘out to directors’. More as it comes our way.
