Cate Blanchett is set to play iconic actress Lucille Ball in a new movie scripted by Aaron Sorkin. The biopic series is titled Lucy & Desi, and set up over at Amazon Studios.
The planned film is set to tell the authorized story and tempestuous love/business relationship between Desi Arnaz and Ball, whose production company Desilu launched such series as Star Trek. A high profile actor, one such name mentioned as Javier Bardem, is being sought to play Arnaz.
The couple’s children, Lucie Luckinbill and Desi Arnaz Jr, are involved in the project, which is in the early stages of development.
