The BBC will announce the new Doctor Who live on BBC One after the Wimbledon Men’s Final this Sunday afternoon, the corporation says. Current Doctor Peter Capaldi stepped down this past January and will end his run with this year’s Christmas special.
Capaldi has played the role, following Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith, for three years, but will bow out in ‘The Doctors’, which will air on BBC One and BBC America on Christmas Day.
There’s much speculation as to who may play the new Doctor once Capaldi’s version regenerates, but we’ll know for sure come this Sunday. Keep it THN for more.
