Dexter himself Michael C. Hall is returning to the small screen for a new Netflix series from prolific author Harlen Coben. Both Coben and Hall will produce the new one-off series, titled Safe, which is now filming in the UK, in both Manchester and Cheshire.
The project is backed by StudioCanal and Netflix, and officially kicked off production this very week. Deadline reports the news of Hall’s central casting, and added more info about the plot of the new eight-parter.
Hall will play Tom, a pediatric surgeon who is raising his two teenage daughters Jenny and Carrie in a picturesque gated community after the death of his wife. Everyone seems to be recovering and thriving, until one evening, Jenny sneaks out to a party. A murder and a disappearance ensue, bringing buried secrets to the surface.
No word on when exactly this will hit the streamer, but a 2018 debut is likely.
