Some news rumours have popped up online revealing that none other than Ryan Gosling is apparently set to play a young Willy Wonka in a new prequel movie based on the Roald Dahl property Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Ryan Gosling Willy Wonka rumours – Will the actor appear in a new prequel?
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them producer David Heyman will apparently be producing the new Willy Wonka project for the studio which will focus on the adventures of a young Willy Wonka meeting the Oompa Loompas. The studio are reportedly looking for an actor between the ages of 29 and 35, hence the Ryan Gosling connection. He is apparently leading the way in terms of securing the lucrative role at the moment.

Mr Wonka is a mystery, a conundrum, one day he was there and the next day he suddenly vanished and nobody has been into his factory or cast eyes upon him ever since. Now Mr Wonka has offered five lucky children the chance to step inside the factory, five Golden Tickets hidden inside five bars of chocolate. All Charlie needs is one tiny, near-impossible stroke of luck.
The original 1964 novel was turned into a beloved movie named Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory back in 1971. Gene Wilder led that movie as the titled character before Depp assumed the role on Tim Burton’s 2005 reimagining, which reverted back to the source novel’s original title. The book has also been adapted for the stage for a new Charlie and The Chocolate Factory musical directed by Sam Mendes. It has played in both London’s West End and more recently on Broadway.
The Ryan Gosling Willy Wonka news is to be taken with a pinch of salt at the moment as there is, of course, no official word from the studio or anyone in Gosling’s came as yet. We will endevoiur to keep you updated.
