Some details surrounding the release of Alien: Covenant on the home formats have been released courtesy of Alien-Covenant.com. The Ridley Scott-directed movie is due in August and it looks like it is packed with previously unseen material.
The special features will apparently include twelve deleted and extended scenes which reportedly comes in at around eighteen minutes of additional footage.
The same source says that the the previously released YouTube ‘Prologue’ cut scenes, which featured James Franco, are excluded and are listed as separate featurettes. The home release will feature: David’s illustrations from his time on Paradise, 5 Featurettes which were used throughout Covenant’s marletint; Meet Walter, Phobos, The Last Supper, The Crossing and Advent. There is also a special Master Class: Ridley Scott featurette which clocks in at nearly an hour.
Check out the awesome cover art below. We’re assuming that this is targeted to U.S. markets, where it will be released on August 15th. UK audiences can pick up their copy shortly afterwards but a definite date is TBC.
