Bloodline star Kyle Chandler and Ant-Man villain Corey Stoll have joined the cast of Damien Chazelle’s First Man, the La La Land‘s biopic of Neil Armstrong. The film is based over at Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, and will see Ryan Gosling play Armstrong.
Deadline reports that Chandler will play Deke Slayton, the WWII flyer, aeronautical engineer and test pilot who was selected as one of the original NASA Mercury Seven astronauts and became NASA’s first Chief of the Astronaut Office. Stoll is in talks to play Buzz Aldrin in the film, so report The Tracking Board.
The film, which is about to kick off production, is based on the book by James R. Hansen, and tells the story of the Apollo 11 mission and the eight years leading up to it. Josh Singer (Spotlight) adapted said book and the film has a release date set for October 12th, 2018.
