New trailer lands for Netflix’s ‘Okja’

Netflix have debuted the brand new trailer for their incoming original feature Okja, the film which premiered to huge acclaim at last month’s Cannes Film Festival. Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal and Paul Dano star in this drama about a girl who must keep a powerful company from abducting her pal, a gentle beast. You can watch the new Okja trailer below.

New Okja trailer lands online ahead of the film’s debut on the streaming service in two weeks

The film follows Mija, a farm girl from the mountains of South Korea who discovers the surprising lengths she’s willing to go to in order to protect the one she loves most: her best friend and Super Pig… Okja.

When Okja is abducted by a nefarious multinational corporation, she embarks on a journey across the globe, that stretches her geographical and emotional boundaries, unleashing an unexpected inner strength that rivals anything else you’ll see this summer.

Along the way, she goes from jumping into streams to jumping through glass windows…from hanging from tree branches to hanging off the side of a semi in downtown Seoul.

We reviewed the film back in Cannes in May, saying the following in our official review:

Boon Jong Ho’s choice to bounce the tone from family drama all of the way through to intense, near-horror-like sequences in the climactic scenes may see one ask as what audience he is aiming the film at, but its very hard not to walk away from Okja with a massive smile on your face. Personally, despite some minor flaws, I loved it.
