Venom shooting details revealed: Will shoot in Atlanta and New York from September.

Tom Hardy will play the original Symbiote host, Eddie Brock, in a script from Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner, while the film will be directed by Zombieland‘s Rueben Fleischer. The character previously appeared in 2007’s Spider-Man 3, played by Topher Grace. Little is known about the plot of the film, other than the fact that production will get underway later this year, for an October 5th, 2018 release date.

In the last 24 hours, it was confirmed that Venom will not be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, despite Sony collaborating with Marvel Studios for the incoming Spider-Man: Homecoming, which will be released next month. Marvel Studios’ head-honcho Kevin Feige sat down with Allocine recently and said: “No plans to include [Venom] in the MCU right now. That is Sony’s project.”

There are some unconfirmed reports from Omega Underground that the film will be rated-R, but again, that has not been confirmed by the studio. We’ll obviously keep you updated on more Venom shooting details as it comes our way.

Tom Hardy was recently linked to the role of Jafar in the forthcoming Guy Ritchie adaptation of Aladdin over at Disney, but those reports were instantly shot down by sources at the actor’s camp. Hardy was also recently pictured shooting the fourth season of Peaky Blinders in Liverpool, England. The actor will next be seen in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, which will be released in July.
