Ahead of the upcoming release, Sony Pictures has released the first trailer, poster and stills from the upcoming remake of the film Flatliners. The film will arrive in cinemas in September, starring the likes of Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton, Kiersey Clemons, and Kiefer Sutherland, the latter of whom appeared in the 1990 original. Flatliners remake trailer alert: The redo of the 1990 film arrives in September.
In Flatliners, five medical students, obsessed by the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life, embark on a daring and dangerous experiment: by stopping their hearts for short periods of time, each triggers a near-death experience – giving them a firsthand account of the afterlife. But as their experiments become increasingly dangerous, they are each haunted by the sins of their pasts, brought on by the paranormal consequences of trespassing to the other side.

The remake is being directed by Niels Arden Oplev, who is best known for helming the original Swedish version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – a film which was an absolute belter. The movie has a screenplay from Source Code writer Ben Ripley, so that’s another huge tick-box in its favour.
The original starred Sutherland, Julia Roberts, William Baldwin, Oliver Platt, and Kevin Bacon, and was directed by the legendary Joel Schumacher (The Lost Boys). It was an instant cult classic.
