Sarah Paulson, Bob Odenkirk and more join Spielberg’s ‘The Papers’

American Crime Story‘s Sarah Paulson and Better Call Saul‘s Bob Odenkirk have joined the cast of Steven Spielberg’s The Papers, so reports Variety. The film will be lead by Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep and will go into production soon for a release this very year.

Bradley Whitford, Alison Brie, Matthew Rhys, Carrie Coon, Jesse Plemons, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Tracy Letts, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Zach Woods have also joined the cast of the feature, which is said to be released before the end of the year in order to qualify for awards season.

The film was previously titled ‘The Post’, and revolves around the The Pentagon Papers that made headlines prior to publication when the Washington’s Post’s editor Ben Bradlee (to be played by Hanks) and publisher Kay Graham (Streep) challenged the federal government over their right to publish them.

The film is heading for a December 22nd limited release Stateside in order to qualify for the Academy Awards etc. It will have a wider release in January.
