I’ve got to admit, I personally don’t know a great deal about the source material, but speaking to people and firing up some of the forums online, I can see that it has a huge following and this film is a hot ticket for the summer months.
Here’s a little more about the movie.

Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), the last Gunslinger, is locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim (Matthew McConaughey), also known as the Man in Black. The Gunslinger must prevent the Man in Black from toppling the Dark Tower, the key that holds the universe together. With the fate of worlds at stake, two men collide in the ultimate battle between good and evil.
The Dark Tower is directed by Nikolaj Arcel, based on a screenplay by Arcel, Akiva Goldsman, Jeff Pinkner, and Anders Thomas Jensen. Arcel is behind the magnificent A Royal Affair, the critically acclaimed drama that was released a few years back, so it will be interesting to see what he can do with a huge-budgeted movie.
We’ll have a full review of the film once we’re able to bring it to you.
The Dark Tower will debut in cinemas on August 17th. Watch the Dark Tower TV spots, titled ‘Man In Black’, ‘Knight’ and ‘Earth’ below.
